Keep Collinsville Beautiful
Keep Collinsville Beautiful (KCB) the Collinsville affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization started in 2011 by a group of members of the New Horizon Club, a federated women’s club dedicated to beautification who simply wanted to clean up areas of the community that were neglected.
In 2013 Keep Collinsville Beautiful applied for and received the “Governor’s Community Achievement Award.” The GCAA recognizes outstanding Texas communities for their achievements in the following seven areas: community leadership and coordination, public awareness, education, beautification and community improvement, litter prevention and cleanup, solid waste management and litter law and illegal dumping enforcement. KCB was awarded a $90,000 landscaping grant which was spent to beautify in the Collinsville Downtown TxDOT right-of way median.
Most recently, KCB was again awarded the prestigious Governor’s Community Achievement Award for 2023 in Category 1, which is for communities with up to a 3,000 population. Collinsville again received a $90,000 award from TxDOT and was recognized as one of the few elite affiliates that have maintained a gold or silver star status for the last ten years. KCB members will be meeting with TxDOT engineers to plan for the use of the funds to renovate and repair the west sidewalks of the Downtown business area for accessibility, updates and beautification.
