Isolated Showers Possible Friday 6.12

A weak front will drift into North Texas on Friday, providing just enough lift for a few isolated showers and thunderstorms to develop. The atmosphere will remain very humid, with plenty of moisture available for any storm that forms.

Coverage will be low, so most locations will stay dry. However, any shower that develops could produce a brief but heavy downpour.

Overall, I wouldn’t expect most people to get wet, but if a shower happens to move over your neighborhood, you could pick up a quick downpour before it moves on.

Rainfall Estimates June 12–15

A weak front arrives Friday, followed by a stronger front on Sunday. This will bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms across North Texas, with widespread rainfall totals of 1–3 inches expected through Monday. Locally higher amounts are possible where storms repeatedly move over the same areas.

While widespread flooding is not anticipated at this time, isolated ponding on roads and brief downpours will be possible. The added rainfall will continue to boost June totals across the region.
